Coyote Removal
Coyotes are found all over Alabama but it has not always been that way. Coyotes were primarily a wester species that have migrated east in the past 50 years. The average coyote in Alabama weighs around 30 pounds. Their fur varies from almost pure grey to black with a yellow, reddish, brown mix being the most common
They can survive anywhere they have food. Since they are omnivores they feed on a variety of animals and plants with a diet that includes everything from rodents, birds, eggs, poultry and livestock. In the summer months coyotes will feed on many different fruits such as blackberries, persimmons, pears and watermelons
Coyotes have no preference for any specific type of habitat with a range up to 30 miles. Because of this coyotes can be found everywhere in Alabama from the most rural areas of the state to the urban areas.
Are coyotes a threat to pets? Yes, especially those that are left outside at night particularly in urban and suburban areas.
